HTML Album Tool
The HTML Album Tool (Ctrl+B) can be used to generate HTML pages
showing currently selected images.
Prior to invoking the HTML Album Tool one has to select photographs in the images pane window.
Those photographs will be used by the HTML Album Tool in the same order they show up in the pane.
HTML generation options:
- Album Style
Select a template for a grid HTML page or for a frameset HTML with list of images and preview window.
Note: template files for those two styles are stored in a Template folder located in the same directory as the ExifPro.
- Colors
Modify page and text colors for generated HTML pages.
- Grid
Specify how may images to place in each row of a grid. Select text label for those images.
- Thumbnails
Specify size of thumbnail images. Thumbnails will not be bigger than specified size, but due to the preserved
aspect ratio, they may be smaller.
- Output Folders
Specify a path where the album will be generated. Photos and Thumbnails subfolders (if specified) will
be used to store generated big images and small thumbnails respectively.
- Page Names
Enter page title and main page file name.
- Size of Images
Enter requested size for big images. Choosing 'Originals' will use original images as they are (without resizing).
- Quality
If images are to be resized, quality specifies JPEG compression level.
- Text for Images
Select what text (if any) is to be used for big preview images. 'Photo Description' will use text assigned to the images
using Edit Description tool.
Extra options:
- Resizing Method
Resizing method selects algorithm used to resize images. Default cubic method is generally recommended.
Halftone method can create slightly sharper images at the expense of their quality. Nearest neighbor method
(pixel sampling) is simplest and fastest, but delivers lowest quality images.
- Preserve EXIF
Copy EXIF block from the original images to their resized copies. Without EXIF block resized images will be smaller, so
it's advisable to turn this option off for an HTML album.
- Progressive
This is recommended setting for images displayed on WWW pages.
Progressive mode of JPEG rearranges stored image data into a series of scans. If such an image is transmitted
across a network, receiver can quickly generate low-quality image from the first scan and then gradually
improve displayed quality as remaining scans arrive.
- Baseline compatibility
This setting can be used to maximize compatibility with some old JPEG decoders.
- Start Browser Window
After generating an album ExifPro can open Internet browser application to show you how the final effect looks like.
