The Rotate Tool (Ctrl+R) can permanently rotate selected photographs
(or all of them if none is selected) in place and without any loss in quality.
Prior to invoking the Rotate Tool one may select photographs in the images pane window.
There are only three choices here: clockwise, counterclockwise rotation or automatic.
First two choices force rotation in a given direction. Third option uses orientation information
available in the EXIF block. Some digital cameras (like Sony F505V) are capable of storing photograph's
orientation thanks to the built-in sensor. This important feature means ExifPro can sense
proper orientation while displaying photograph. Rotation tool also takes advantage of this
field rotating photograph according to this information. In the absence of orientation data
input photograph is left intact.
If your digital camera provides orientation the simplest method of auto rotating is to invoke the rotation tool
without selecting any photographs (or selecting them all—this is equivalent for this particular tool).
Then selecting auto rotation will actually only rotate photographs taken with portrait orientation.
